The method is not described, we watched Mom make it many times, and you had to watch the method to understand how she did it.
I am guessing it came from Helen Jantzen, which could be Dad's sister or one of Mom's friends.
The cake was always topped with this Seven Minute Icing that used the egg white that was not used in the cake.
The "Chocolate Icing" was drizzled around the edges and down the sides of the white icing.
